How much will my dog’s groom cost?
The price depends on your dog’s breed, size, coat type and condition, behaviour, and the time or work required. Sam will agree the price before grooming begins.

Choosing a service and understanding your quote.
The price depends on your dog’s breed, size, coat type and condition, behaviour, and the time or work required. Sam will agree the price before grooming begins.
Suitability is assessed individually. There is no fixed exclusion list by breed, size, coat, age or health condition. Sam may adapt or decline a service for welfare or safety reasons, or stop grooming for those reasons. Tell Sam about your dog, their coat and what you hope the visit will achieve.
Substantial matting adds £15 when clipping or materially increased work is required. Fleas discovered during grooming adds £10, and late collection adds £10. Sam explains charges before payment and, where reasonably identifiable, agrees them before proceeding.
Making a request, changing plans and arriving at the Salon.
No. A request is not a confirmed appointment. An appointment exists only after Prestons Perfect Paws explicitly accepts and schedules it with you.
Give as much notice as you can. At least 48 hours carries no charge; shorter notice may carry part or all of the agreed groom fee. Arrival at least 15 minutes late may be treated as a no-show.
The Cottage Kennels, Spath Cottage, Ashbourne Road, Uttoxeter ST14 5AP. Enter through the gate and park on site; there is no designated parking area. The Salon is open by appointment only, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.
Health, behaviour, puppies, coats and welfare.
Puppies may attend from one week after their final vaccination. The Puppy pamper is a gentle introduction to the Salon’s sights, sounds, handling and equipment rather than a guaranteed complete groom.
Unwell or potentially contagious dogs should not attend. Please do not bring a dog with fleas. Contact Sam as soon as possible to discuss what to do next.
Tell Sam about known aggression or biting history before the appointment. She may adapt, refuse or stop a groom if a dog presents a safety or serious welfare risk.
Sam makes a welfare-led coat assessment and attempts only limited de-matting where it is safe and comfortable. She may recommend clipping short or veterinary help and will explain the options, likely finish, risks and charge.
Still unsure?
Sam can discuss the service and any health, behaviour, coat or visit needs with you.
